iridescence: Taiwan Day 2

Cingjing Little Swiss Garden - Old England minsu - Le Parker Hotel - Chung-she Flower Market - Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory - Fengjia Night Market

We headed down to the dining area of our minsu for our buffet breakfast. Have to admit it was quite a large spread with different kinds of food. Had a good meal before we headed to Little Swiss Garden nearby. The weather today was quite cold, misty and there was slight drizzle throughout the day.

Little Swiss Garden:

Little Swiss Garden was quite a nice place but it's definitely not worth the entrance fee. Thankfully, we got free entrance tickets because of our meal at Carton King restaurant yesterday.

After that, we went to visit the Old English minsu, which was a 5 to 10 minutes drive away. The scenery there was amazing. Wanted to stay there but it was fully booked!!

After taking lots of photographs, we went back to our minsu to check out and headed to our hotel called Le Parker in Taichung city. Then, we had our lunch nearby at McDonalds before taking a cab to Chung-she Flower Market. The cab fare was NTD1400 to and fro from our hotel and the entrance fee was NTD120 per person. Although it wasn't that horrible, I still felt it was not worth the trip there. Would not recommend going there. Nothing spectacular at all.

In the evening, we went to Fengjia Night Market which was a stone's throw away from our hotel. We had dinner in a restaurant nearby- Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory (七日七日). We ordered roasted spring chicken with potato wedges for NTD530, seafood egg soup for NTD290 and seaweed riceballs for NTD70. It was a good and satisfactory experience. The roasted chicken was well marinated and soft and the baked potato wedges were not salty. As for the seafood soup, there were many clams and mussels inside the soup and it was piping hot and well flavoured. The seaweed riceballs were up to standard. Pretty impressive I should say. After the satisfying dinner, we headed to the night market for some shopping (and a little eating).
